Volunteers Wanted

We are currently looking for volunteers to undertake the following roles in Wales:
Public Awareness Raising Executive (Volunteer)
Responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Stop it Now! Wales Campaign and Helpline promotional activity
  • Organise information and resource distribution and circulation. Identify new channels for material distribution. Assist with mailings.
  • Support the organisation of localised publicity events e.g. events in support of the Stop it Now! key messages with local rugby teams, local employers, local clubs/ arts centres etc.
  • Set up and manage database of material distribution activity.

Fundraising Executive (Volunteer)
Responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the setting up of new Stop it Now! Wales fundraising committees/ groups across Wales. Recruiting new members to the fundraising committees/ groups.
  • Organise and promote creative, innovative fundraising events in aid of Stop It Now! Wales
  • Identify new corporate sponsorship opportunities
  • Establish and manage supporter database in line with the Data Protection Act
  • Ensuring that all funds raised are recorded and banked in accordance with the Policies and Procedures of Stop it Now! UK & Ireland and the Lucy Faithfull Foundation.

Skills and qualities needed;

  • A friendly, outgoing and enthusiastic manner
  • Commitment to making a real difference to those affected by the sexual abuse of children
  • The ability to work using your own initiative and work well as part of a team

Other Information;

  • These roles are particularly suitable for those who are looking for work experience within the fundraising, PR, marketing or event management fields.
  • Hours are flexible to fit around your other study and work commitments
  • A minimum of one year’s commitment is desirable, preferably more
  • Welsh speakers desirable
